About E Pluribus Unum

e pluribuspennyE Pluribus Unum is a website featuring thought-provoking comments, analysis and humor about these United States and its culture and people. The perspective is decidedly middle-of-the-road, although you might detect a wobble slightly to the left and right from time to time.  The site name is the original motto of the U.S.A. (“One Out of Many”) and reflects a feeling that all Americans, regardless of party, class, race, gender or condition have a valuable role to play in our society.

The site was launched in October 2013 by Jim Tortolano, a journalist and college professor. He’s written for newspapers large and small, from the Los Angeles Times to the Garden Grove Journal. Born in Rhode Island, Jim is a former military reservist, did color commentary for local football telecasts and now teaches journalism and mass communications in California.

He is also the author of a new novel, “No Justice: Adventures of the Black Dog,” available as an e-book through Amazon.com.
